The municipality of Tisá is situated on the western edge of the Bohemian Switzerland National Park 560m above sea level with a population of 700 permanent residents. It is a very significant recreational and tourist centre of the area. The beautiful and peaceful environment of the Tisá Walls(Tiské stěny), surrounding forests and ponds offer active holidays for climbers, lovers of trips and walks, and bikers.
In the summer, it is possible to take advantage of many tourist trails, educational paths passing through the Tisá Walls (Tiské stěny) and special bike routes. The Tisá Walls (Tiské stěny) and nearby walls in Rájec and Ostrov offer a real paradise for climbers. You can swim in some of the nearby ponds or in public swimming pools in the vicinity (thermal spa in Ústí nad Labem and Děčín). There are possibilities of visiting other interesting places of the Bohemian Switzerland National Park - Sněžník, Hřensko (gorges on the Kamenice river), Pravčická brána (the largest natural stone bridge), Jetřichovice, the Elbe valley (boat trip); in Saxony, Germany, you can visit Konigstein or Bad Gotleuba spa. If you are interested in history, you can also visit nearby sites – monuments of the Napoleonic wars in Chlumec and Přestanov, the ruins of Blansko castle, Střekov castle or some other towns – Teplice spa, Děčín or Ústí nad Labem. It takes just an hour by car to get to Prague – the capital, or to historic Dresden.
Tisá also offers possibilities for an active winter holiday – cross-country ski trails are well maintained and they offer about 30km with minimum elevation; there is also a 500-metre-long ski lift for recreational skiers with lighting for night skiing. It is worth just to take a walk through the winter countryside of the Tisá Walls(Tiské stěny) or a trip to Sněžník. The ski centre in Telnice is just 12km away, the Bouřňák ski centre is 15km away.
